Shady Acres Nursery is located in Omak, Washington and is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Lincoln and Roseanne Koehn. The Koehn’s purchased the business the beginning of 2024 and celebrated two years of ownership last month. Former owner Donna Newell started Shady Creek Gardens and Pond and was in business from 1996 until retiring in 2022. Originally located in Okanogan, the nursery located to its current location in Omak in 2008. I had the pleasure of meeting Lincoln and Roseanne at the BFG Show in October 2024, and their passion for bringing back an independent garden center and continuing to provide the community a destination to find unique and regionally appropriate plants and products was quite evident. Prior to opening in March of 2024, the Koehn’s added a second greenhouse in which they grow a small portion of what they sell including their own hanging baskets and custom planters.
