10:45 ~ Presentation “Pollinator Friendly Gardens – A retail trend that is still buzzing along”

and Lori Vollmer, Garden Fever!
·        Sourcing Bee-Safe Nursery Plants: Principles and Tips for Plant Buyers
·        How nurseries have been taking advantage of this trend.
·        Pollinator safe pest prevention in your nursery & educational marketing.
Our session will provide Xerces’ recommendations for sourcing plants produced in a pollinator-friendly manner. We’ll go over principles of integrated pest management, and provide a checklist for plant buyers to use when discussing production practices with your vendors. We’ll cover the “three-legged stool” of pest prevention, monitoring, and limiting pesticide harm.
Lori Vollmer will present how some of our NNBA nurseries have been taking advantage of this trend with creative merchandising, educational marketing, and other trend tie-ins.
