Become an NNBA Board Member

The NNBA board is an important part of your cooperative. Do you think you could be part of the board? The NNBA board will have three openings this year that will need filled at the February meeting. So what do you need to do as an NNBA board member?

What are the duties of an NNBA Board member?

  • Review financial statements each month
  • Review member credit reports
  • Approve new NNBA Members
  • Approve new NNBA Vendors
  • Review existing NNBA Vendor programs annually
  • Review and approve the NNBA annual budget
  • Approve speakers for NNBA meetings

The NNBA board has a monthly meeting by conference call the second Tuesday of each month at 8:00 am. generally running 30 minutes to an hour. There are two all day meetings face to face the Monday before the Annual Meeting and the Monday of the Fall Meeting at the location of the meetings. These two meetings usually run from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The NNBA board consists of 5 directors.  NNBA elects directors to two year terms at each annual meeting in February. Director’s terms start at the end of the annual meeting and extend through the end of the annual meeting at which replacements are elected.  Two directors are elected in odd numbered years and three are elected in even numbered years.

There are many benefits for serving on the NNBA board. You will build great relationships with other board members. You will have first hand knowledge of how NNBA works and operates to help you in your own business.
