Our History

In 1980, a group of Oregon independent garden centers got together and made a group purchase with Jackson & Perkins rose growers to obtain a favorable quantity discount. The program worked well, and in 1983 the group incorporated as a cooperative and officially formed one of the first independent retail nursery buying groups in the country. The cooperative called itself the Oregon Nursery Buyers Association. It was soon realized that the entire Northwest could benefit from the Association, and the name was changed to the Northwest Nursery Buyers Association (NNBA). The cooperative focuses exclusively on assisting independent garden centers in the northwest. Currently, NNBA has members in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and northern California.
